EE required specialist knowledge to create a series of reporting solutions for the launch of the 4G network and EE brand. Engaged to analyse data and develop reporting solutions using SAP, Business Objects, VBA and SQL

Frutarom UK

Frutarom required data from its global operations (daily) to facilitate consolidated reporting. Engaged to develop a robust batch solution to automate this process. Engaged with key stake-holders; assessed business/ data requirements; designed data extraction using Transact SQL; created DTS / SSIS packages; developed FTP script for file transfer and led testing. Succeeded in creating a fit-for-purpose solution that facilitated use of a sophisticated EIS system that has enhanced business decision- making.

GE Capital

Engaged to optimise financial database design and improve performance. Assignment included engaging with stakeholders to understand business requirements; defining application / data requirements; designing data extraction using native SQL to Ingres data warehouse and building Access forms to simplify UI for business users. Succeeded in developing a robust solution which reduced month-end processing timescales from 3 days to just 3 hours.

GE Capital

Engaged to lead multiple changes / enhancements of car sales database following major business and regulatory changes. Project included redesigning VAT processing from hard to soft-coded; defining complex business rules for 3 VAT rate changes; automating auction house receipt data; and implementing XML and Excel data transfer solutions with new auction partners. Succeeded in delivering multiple enhancements which significantly reduced data errors and enhanced productivity

GE Capital

Engaged to develop a reporting tool to help GE’s finance team produce statutory accounts reports. Engaged with finance users and stakeholders to scope requirements; designed / architected solution; built tool using Access 2010 (acquiring data from Oracle data warehouse); and developed sophisticated UI in line with user requirements. Succeeded in creating a fit-for-purpose application that provided financial accounts results in hours rather than days.


Engaged to lead data migration project for Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland Mental Health NHS Trust. Project involved migration of data from 8 existing standalone child health and psychology systems (Access 2000 and SQL6.5 systems) to a new ASP.NET / SQL 2000 database. Performed data analysis; created documentation and migration plans; developed VBA, SQL and DTS packages; executed migration; performed testing and provided post-implementation support. Delivered a highly successful migration, ensuring superior data integrity with zero unplanned disruption to business activities.

Scotia Gas

Scotia Gas (formerly National Grid Transco) needed to replace Lotus Approach systems with Microsoft technologies. Engaged to develop a new solution and consolidate / migrate data from multiple Approach databases into Microsoft Access 2000. Engaged with business users; analysed Approach datasets; designed and developed replica of existing DBs using SQL, VBA and ADO; created migration plans; consolidated data; and led migration to a client-server design Access 2000 application. Delivered a robust application that Scotia still use today.
